Creating opportunities together – our partnership with Armenia
May 2026
As Ostsächsische Sparkasse Dresden, we are firmly rooted in our region. Our close connection with people, our sense of responsibility and long-term relationships define our identity – towards our customers, towards the local economy and towards the people who live in our region. These values connect us with the work of the German Sparkassenstiftung for International Cooperation, which promotes the successful Sparkasse model worldwide and strengthens financial institutions and financial education.
Since 2025, employees from Ostsächsische Sparkasse Dresden have been supporting the German Sparkassenstiftung through two-week project missions in Yerevan, Armenia. They contribute their expert knowledge, practical experience and insights from day-to-day work at a German Sparkasse – for example, in the fields of customer orientation, sustainability and development of banking processes.
Our motivation is not solely professional in nature. We are particularly impressed by the partnership-based approach of the German Sparkassenstiftung: it is not about providing ready-made solutions, but rather about learning together with our colleagues on site, exchanging experiences and developing ideas that are tailored to the specific situation. It is precisely this exchange on an equal footing that makes the collaboration so valuable. In Armenia, our employees experience how similar many issues are at their core – even if the framework conditions, markets, and structures differ.
For us, this partnership is an example of active international cooperation within the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe. The Sparkasse philosophy stands for participation, financial freedom and regional development – values that are significant beyond national borders.
At the same time, our staff gain new insights, professional inspiration, and valuable perspectives through their missions in Armenia. This collaboration demonstrates how enriching personal exchange, mutual learning and shared commitment can be.
We are delighted to be part of the project activities and would like to thank the German Sparkassenstiftung and the team in Armenia for their trust and cooperation.
