Capacity building of teachers in technical and vocational education colleges in Armenia on sustainable entrepreneurship and climate adaptation practices

Project term: 01.05.2026-31.08.2028

The project supports Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges in Armenia to modernize entrepreneurship education and strengthen the employability and entrepreneurial capacities of young people, particularly in the regions.

Armenia’s TVET sector is undergoing reforms aimed at improving labor market relevance, strengthening green and digital competencies, and enhancing cooperation between educational institutions and the private sector. However, many TVET colleges continue to face challenges related to outdated teaching methodologies, limited practical learning approaches, and insufficient integration of sustainability and entrepreneurship topics into formal education.

The project activities help to bridge these gaps:

- Entrepreneurship curricula and training materials are reviewed and adapted in line with labor market demands and international best practices.
- Teachers and trainers from state TVET colleges strengthen their competencies in interactive teaching methodologies, entrepreneurship education, soft skills, and sustainability-related content.
- Innovative and simulation-based learning tools, including Micro Business Simulation Training (MBG), are integrated into teaching processes to improve practical and market-oriented education.
- Young people improve their entrepreneurial competencies and employability prospects through more practice-oriented learning opportunities.
- Cooperation between TVET institutions, the private sector, and public stakeholders is strengthened to support sustainable vocational education reforms.

Modern teaching approaches and curricula that focus on sustainability and practical relevance improve employment prospects for young people and help foster the development of a more resilient and inclusive economy in the country.
