Our partner Farm Credit Armenia UCO (FCA) has published its first sustainability report. In the report, the Universal Credit Organisation sets out its specific contribution to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Sustainable finance is the core of FCA’s mission. The concept of sustainability is already embedded in its corporate structure. FCA is the only cooperative credit institution in Armenia that operates in rural areas based on genuine cooperative principles. Its members are its owners, controllers, and beneficiaries.
FCA offers far more than just responsible, inclusive financial services. Through its presence in rural areas, digital services, technical advice and access to networks, FCA supports local communities, combines tradition with innovation and strengthens the conditions for a competitive agricultural sector and prosperous regional economic cycles.
FCA is also working intensively to implement its sustainability strategy in its internal processes – from promoting a sustainable corporate culture and the efficient use of resources to the use of renewable energy. The financial institution aims to be carbon neutral by 2030.
Over 12,000 members benefit from FCA’s powerful performance; three of them are featured in the sustainability report. Through the ‘Green Corner’, FCA keeps its stakeholders transparently informed about the progress made in implementing its sustainability strategy.
The German Sparkassenstiftung supports Farm Credit Armenia on its journey towards becoming a sustainable Universal Credit Organisation. Ostsächsische Sparkasse Dresden, the partner Sparkasse for our project activities in Armenia, makes a significant contribution.
