Successful Completion of Energy-Efficient Stove Production Training in Armenia

The Armenian office of German Sparkassenstiftung for International Cooperation has successfully completed a series of technical training courses focused on the production of energy-efficient stoves. This significant initiative was implemented in five regions of Armenia: Shirak, Lori, Tavush, Gegharkunik, and Syunik.

The training courses supported metal manufacturers to gain essential skills for producing energy-efficient stoves. The program included an introduction to production plans, hands-on demonstrations, and discussions on the health and financial benefits of adopting energy-efficient practices.

In total, 108 metal manufacturers were trained, which is expected to have a significant positive impact on both the participants and their communities. The use of energy-efficient stoves will improve people’s health and contribute to financial savings due to reduced fuel consumption. What is also important, 20 forcibly displaced individuals from Nagorno Karabakh participated in the trainings. This fact highlights the commitment to inclusive growth, development of skills, and support for vulnerable populations.

The initiative is part of the "EU4Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy in Armenian Communities" Project, co-funded by the European Union (EU) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). It is implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH as part of the “ECOserve” program.
